Position Overview:
As the Senior Accountant at Brightworks IT, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and maintaining the fiscal health of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations across seven distinct sets of books, streamlining accounting processes, and ensuring that financial practices support the company’s growth and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and refine comprehensive processes for all areas of accounting, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), invoicing, collections, expenses, and payroll.
· Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, financial forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
· Implement robust financial controls and governance frameworks across all locations to enhance transparency and efficiency.
· Lead the financial integration of all locations, ensuring consistent practices and procedures are applied across the company.
· Drive the automation and optimization of financial processes using cutting edge financial technology solutions.
· Manage cash flow, liquidity, and resource allocation efficiently to support the company’s operational and strategic goals.
· Establish strong relationships with senior management, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision making.
· Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization (i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers and pension funds and investments).
· Train, and retain skilled financial personnel (hire when required); establish a high performing financial team.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA strongly preferred.
· At least 10 years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations in an organization of at least a similar size.
· Proven experience in designing and implementing financial systems and processes across multiple locations.
· Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance management.
· Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire a diverse group of individuals and teams.
