The base hourly rate for this position is $18.85
We are currently seeking qualified applicants for an entry level Quality Lab Technician to be located in our Macon, Georgia plant.
The Quality Lab Technician will have the responsibilities of performing lab functions in the Macon, GA plant, to include running quality assurance tests and in-process and finished goods quality checks. These tests include but are not limited to asphalt batch testing, granule particle size testing, granule adhesion testing, and finished product specifications. The Macon, GA facility manufactures roofing materials for commercial use. This is an industrial facility and advancement in the plant will require process and machine operation.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Perform quality testing of all batches to ensure compliance. If batch is out of compliance, determine correction to be made and communicate with mixing department.
- Perform finished product quality testing to ensure compliance. If out of compliance, communicate with production to determine path forward.
- Record and enter data captured for all batches and finished products.
- Receive and unload incoming asphalt and filler. Requires operation of electrical controls.
- Provide support for the production line to make data-driven decisions for finished product.
Provide shift transition report to oncoming lab technician and discuss any topics that need additional information.
Determine disposition and perform usage decision on all production orders.
- Transport materials in the warehouse using a forklift.
What You Bring to the Team:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong math skills
- Self-Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- General knowledge of computers with the ability to navigate various programs.

- Able to work with others
- Able to work flexible schedule to include possible overtime
- Willingness to work in non-temperature-controlled environment wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs and reach into tanks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with UL/ASTM/FM guidelines
- SAP experience
- Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma knowledge
