Job Description
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Data Analyst to join our team, supporting a large program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). As a Senior Data Analyst you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify trends, generate reports, and provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Apply intermediate knowledge of the subject matter to analyze and solve problems in areas including but not limited to finance, accounting, information technology, human resources, contracting and procurement, research and analysis, or other program support fields.
- Assist in leading and participating in teams that process business requirements including but not limited to, analysis, evaluation, and implementation of systems or processes.
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform advanced data analysis using statistical methods and data visualization techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and opportunities for improvement.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present findings to stakeholders.
- Translate complex data findings into easy-to-understand visualizations and reports for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and other data querying languages.
- Familiarity with data management software such as SAS or R.
- Prior experience working on federal projects, especially within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
Eligibility:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $110,000.
