Temporary fair workers perform a multitude of tasks to ensure all fair-goers have a fun time at a clean and safe event. Please find one of the operations below that aligns with your experience and interest. Dates of employment are variable depending on the position. The majority of employment opportunities will begin the last week of July and conclude the second week of August. The Thurston County Fair runs July 31, 2024 – August 4, 2024.

Service Operations: Custodial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, table washing, and trash pick-up. Customer Service tasks including, but not limited to, welcoming the public, collecting tickets, and monitoring parking.
Administrative Operations: Tasks to include, but not limited to, data entry, operating cash register, running computer reports, welcoming the public, answering phones, organizing files, and other clerical items as needed.
Facilities Operations: Tasks to include, but not limited to, repairing water leaks, landscaping, basic equipment repair, tables, chairs and tent set-ups, moving manure, and sanitizing facilities and equipment. Experience with the use of basic hand and power tools (hammers, impact drills, etc), basic grounds equipment (lawn mower, weed eater, blower, etc), and some knowledge of electricity (i.e. the difference between 120/240 power) are required for this work.
