Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Client Operations, the Director of Client Operations is responsible for the overall functions related to client success and operations. They will lead a team of Client Operation Managers to ensure the RCM department maximizes the collectability of the services performed. This includes leading and managing the reimbursement approach and strategy, establishing reimbursement policies and procedures, creating, and administering ongoing training to staff, dissecting, communicating, overseeing Client Satisfaction, and upholding the integrity of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead region-wide revenue cycle initiatives from ideation to completion, including timeline, resource planning, key deliverables, outcomes, and transition plans.
- Expected to be actively involved in ensuring all revenue cycle operations are well-managed, delivering excellence in quality standards, consistently meeting the organization and client expectations.
- Provides analysis, reporting, and recommendations for revenue performance in order to execute efforts to improve key performance metrics, including though not limited to, high volume collections, A/R Agings, maintaining an appropriate DSO, reducing % of A/R over 90 days, and ensuring an excellent quality.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, payment posting, and collection activity for all surgery center patient accounts.
- Works with facility clients and Regional Managed Care departments to provide responses to inquiries as needed.
- Coordinates internal and external audits related to Revenue Cycle functions.
- Maintains days in AR, cash/net revenue, A/R aging and credit balances to meet established goals.
- Continuously evaluates the overall effectiveness of the revenue cycle operations.
- Manages the implementation of key strategies through the leadership team; fostering an environment of accountability to create a high performing team.
- Successfully communicates trends, issues, resolutions as well as proactively communicates opportunities to clients.
- Must become expert on respective clients, regional payer trends and overall client specifics.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintains thorough understanding of health insurance and government programs, when necessary.
- Facilitates the identification of issues and solutions by team members related to delays in achieving payment resolution.
- Develops, mentors and acts as a resource to a team of Client Operations Managers who are responsible for the overall success of their regions RCM operations and client satisfaction.
- Empowers the team through training, support and relationship building while fostering and maintaining the organization’s culture.
- Function as interim revenue cycle leader for centers if needed.

- 5+years of previous RCM management experience in a large multi-specialty group, an Ambulatory Surgical Center or Outpatient hospital preferred.
- Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving ASC growth.
- Maintain current knowledge and adhere to appropriate regulatory standards such as Medicare.
- Ability to analyze data and develop systems to accurately control financial activity within a surgical center setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project management and operational implementation skills are necessary.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Expert level experience with Microsoft Office Products- ability to create and build spreadsheets and reports in Excel.

- Strong technological understanding and appreciation for the automation of all functions related to the revenue cycle, and the engagement of the customer in that automated process. Experience working collaboratively with IT will be important.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
