We are presently seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Full-time Cook for our state licensed and Joint Commission certified Garden Oaks residential treatment center in Houston, TX.
Position Description:
The Cook assists the Manager in preparing and serving nourishing meals to clients in our substance abuse treatment facility, while adhering to dietary needs to support overall recovery goals.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and serves daily meals within established menu parameters.
- Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils as required.
- Maintains kitchen sanitation, including sweeping and mopping of floors during each shift.
- Maintains a "clean as you go" policy within work areas.
- Adheres to all Positive Recovery policies and procedures, as well as all state and accreditation standards.
- Attends monthly staff meetings and required training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel setting or other commercial setting.
- Current and valid food manager's certification from local health department.
- High School Diploma or GED.(preferred)
- Experience in Healthcare Food Services preferred.
- Proficient using general computer skills.
