You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level performing duties such as:
- Managing assignments that require comprehensive knowledge and experience in design of website content.
- Creating visual concepts using specialized computer graphics and/or digital media to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate users. Experience could be the creation of visual materials such as illustrations, displays, exhibit photographs, typography, combining texture, and photos in design solutions that appropriately convey the information, reproduce well, and have visual impact.
Conveying and presenting technical information to a variety of audiences with limited to no knowledge of topic areas
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
