Purpose: To serve Mount Olive Lutheran Church through the Preschool Ministry by striving to provide a Christ-centered environment for children to grow and learn through exploration and play and prepare them to live as loving Christians in God's world.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and implementing curriculum.
- Arts and Crafts Activities
- Dramatic Play area (changing bi-weekly)
- Sensory Play
- Discovery Room
- Jesus Time
- Outdoor play
- Large Motor
· Conducting twice yearly evaluations and parent-teacher conferences.
· Developing End of Year Portfolios.
· Engage in regular communication with parents and caregivers.
· Assist with planning and executing Special Events (Open House, Orientation, Family Night, Kids Sing Sunday, Bike Day, Last Day Jamboree).
· Planning celebrations and classroom parties related to holidays.
· Participate in required staff training including:
- New staff orientation
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- In-service programs
- Continuing education
- Annual Evaluations
· Supervising and mentoring teacher aides
· Guaranteeing the health, safety, and supervision of children at all times
· Preparing classroom arrangements and maintaining classroom appearance
· Keeping classroom clean, safe, and in accordance with all licensing requirements
· Complying with DHS licensing guidelines and policies found in the Staff Handbook
· Attend staff meetings and retreats.
