GTCA is currently recruiting for 2 full-time Laboratory Technicians to support researchers with accurate and timely laboratory diagnostic information, products, and services.
Position Summary
Laboratory Technicians serve a key role in supporting researchers with accurate and timely laboratory diagnostic information, products, and services. Candidates must be dependable and detail oriented.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of daily laboratory procedures from sample receipt, processing and reporting.
- Ensure that delivery targets and quality objectives are continuously met on-time
- Maintain a “team” environment to ensure the development and retention of personnel
- Assist other laboratory staff in both daily operation and the completion of special projects and non-routine activities.
- Analysis of real time PCR data and gel electrophoresis results and produce completed reports for dissemination to customers.
- Work in partnership with the COO and Director of R&D to develop and evaluate new assays and testing services.
- Proactively resolve issues by consulting with management team members as needed.
- Support the sales and customer service teams regarding available tests, customer orders and results.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment, preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Background in genotyping utilizing PCR preferred
- Data analysis skills required
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with researchers/customers via email and phone
Skills and Qualifications
Presenting Technical Information, Equipment Maintenance, Training, Analyzing Information, Informing Others, Quality Focus, Lab Testing, Lab Environment, Technical Understanding, Ordering Supplies, Attention to detail in a highly repetitive environment. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, Experience using micropipettes to reliably pipette microliter volumes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or related fields (or equivalent experience) preferred
