Job Summary:
Maintain and provide continuous improvement of existing processes to achieve department KPI goals as part of an overall team with Operational Excellence and manufacturing engineering. Actively involved with data collection on production processes to support continuous improvement projects related to capital purchases. Act as a guide and subject matter expert during requirements gathering to support CI efforts.
Essential Functions:
It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.
- Create new fixtures and tooling design. Ensures process tooling inventory and request replacements if necessary.
- Support process development including machine installation and qualification, and continuous improvement projects.
- Work with manufacturing equipment such as robots, machining centers, grinding equipment etc. to optimize production processes.
- Operate and program Fanuc robots to perform various manufacturing tasks. Optimize robot performance to meet production goals.
- Become an expert of all in-house equipment, machines, and processes within areas OpEx supports.
- Make recommendations to improve change-over times efficiencies, modifications of programs on equipment for new and existing manufacturing processes to obtain optimal production levels.
- Lead the development of manufacturing procedures and processes, and documentation of work instructions.
- Assist in selection of new equipment and establishing of routes.
- Performs capability analysis using existing software to provide information for process tracking, KPI’s, and process improvement efforts.
- Performs advanced troubleshooting on machinery and process issues that involve quality, equipment set up, technical issues, etc.
- Utilize Excel and the Power Platform to collect and analyze data related to manufacturing operations. Generate reports and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
- Use Microsoft Power platforms to help build data reports for production to make decisions about cost savings projects
Experience and Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two years formal technical training and three year’s work experience in manufacturing environment or eight years technical job experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing processes including machining, grinding, stamping, riveting or small component assembly
- Advanced mechanical knowledge required. Known as an expert for set up and changeovers of various types of equipment.
- Ability to understand engineering prints and/or any GD&T knowledge.
- Ability to effectively utilize advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), advanced engineering problem solving skills leading CAPA projects using DMAIC
- SolidWorks modeling experience required
- Advanced understanding of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers and comparators.
- Familiarity with robots preferably Fanuc
- Experience with Power platforms including Power BI, Power App, Power Automate
- Ability to read, comprehend, speak and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret SDS’s, work instructions, technical manuals, OHSA and Federal standards.

The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 5 lbs., and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 55 lbs. The employee frequently pushes/pulls an average of 40 lbs., and occasionally pushes/pulls up to 70 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Working Conditions/Physical Hazards
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, and occasionally exposed to production environment. Work area is well lit and air conditioned. All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.
