Our first R&D Facility in Fort Worth has four high speed bottling and canning lines, and a full research & development lab on site for private-label brands, new beverages, and in-house testing. About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Blending Operator is responsible for the batching and blending procedure from start to finish. The ideal candidate has experience in a beverage production facility, and is well-versed in ensuring every product is produced to specification; that the sanitation and CIP process is followed to the letter; and that all documentation is complete and accurate.
Compensation:
$24 - $30 per hour
What you'll do:
BATCHING/BLENDING PRODUCTS
- Stage and verify ingredients for blending to include: acquiring batch documentation, verifying batch documentation with production schedule, assembling ingredients using First Expired/First Out (FEFO), weighing ingredients, performing blend calculations, properly handling partial ingredients, verifying ingredients, and recording data.
- Transport required ingredients and pre-weigh by forklift from staging area to the batching area.
- Hook up hoses, pumps and lines for bulk ingredients and transfer from the proper silo storage tank.
- Maintain, build and starts up, filter(s) and open drums.
- Follow instructions on batching sheets, add the proper ingredients, and record amounts correctly. Consistently adhere to correct formulation and mixing procedures to comply with product quality specifications.
- Completes all required documentation for batching operations and forwards to quality control/batching department for review.
- Retain batch samples, properly label, and send to the quality laboratory for testing. Follow instructions from the quality department on any batch adjustments necessary to bring product into specification, while completing appropriate documentation to record adjustments.
GENERAL
- Responsible for daily startup and shutdown sanitation procedures in batching area.
- Maintain sanitation and cleaning of the batching area throughout the shift.
- Clean/sanitize equipment, tanks, hoses, and lines. Ensure appropriate SOPs are followed throughout cleaning, sanitizing, and storing/organizing equipment.
- Responsible for CIP sanitation of all batching lines, tanks and equipment. Tank CIP process includes: properly completing documentation, preparing tanks, using correct wash and performing pH testing.
SANITATION/CIP
- Receive and unload tankers of liquid ingredients.
- Remove empty barrels and bins from batching area to outside storage area and trailers.
- Count and verify bulk ingredients and raw materials as required.
- Ensure that all batching area ingredients are stored appropriately and to specification.
- Responsible for overall cleanliness and organization of batching area, including ingredients, equipment/parts/hoses/filters, and cleaning/sanitation equipment/chemicals.
- Responsible for following with food safety, food security, GMP's, HAACP, and all Very Good product quality standards and procedures.
What you'll bring:
- 4+ years relevant work experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with following food safety policies, PPE requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Preferred: certified in HACCP, PCQI and/or SQF Practitioner.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Physical and environmental requirements:
- The use and wear of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The ability to move, lift, push, and carry objects up to 50lbs.
- The ability to be on your feet for 8+ hours per day in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
