We are seeking a dedicated IT Coordinator to support our unique blend of traditional IT responsibilities and AV systems management within our dynamic environment.
As an IT Coordinator at Petersen, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our IT and AV infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across both domains. This position calls for a tech-savvy individual who is proficient in handling a mixed environment of Windows and Mac servers, desktop/laptop stations, and iPads, as well as AV systems such as projectors, lighting, TVs, and LED walls. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IT systems, with a strong capability for automation and troubleshooting. Additionally, skills in Python programming, Excel reporting, and familiarity with Shopify will be highly regarded, enhancing the visitor experience and operational workflows.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain a mixed environment of Windows and Mac servers, desktop/laptop stations, and iPads, ensuring reliability and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT and AV system issues, providing timely and efficient solutions.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline museum operations, enhancing both staff and visitor experiences.
- Generate detailed reports in Excel to support data-driven decisions in museum operations and exhibits.
- Manage and optimize the museum's online presence and e-commerce platforms, such as Shopify, for merchandise and ticket sales.
- Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment used in exhibitions and events, ensuring high-quality presentations and visitor engagements.
- Act as liaison between development and technology for Salesforce. Assist in training new users, and grow the Salesforce skill set across the organization.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate technology solutions that support exhibition themes and operational efficiency.
- Train staff on new technologies and systems, promoting a culture of tech proficiency and innovation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in IT and AV systems management, preferably in a museum or similar setting.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across a variety of platforms and systems.
- Proficiency in Python for automation tasks, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting.
- Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with AV systems, including projectors, lighting, TVs, and LED walls.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a capacity for creative problem-solving.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
