Ponderosa Health Center, part of the St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers (SJNHC), is seeking a family practice or internal medicine physician to fill a rare opening at its Anaheim location. Ponderosa health center provides care to low-income families as the result of a community partnership that resulted in the health center being built in a small city park. The health center opened in late 2021 and provides primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dental and mental health services. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to serving our most vulnerable neighbors with highest-quality by building strong relationships with patients and community.
The ideal provider will speak Spanish (strongly preferred, not required) as most patients are Spanish speakers. The position does not currently require after-hours call. Working hours are Monday through Friday 8AM - 5PM and one Saturday per month (a weekday is taken off each month in exchange for the Saturday), option to work remote one-day per week (based on patient demand for virtual care). The position may be eligible for the National Health Services Corps medical education loan repayment program and similar programs offered by the State of California.
Position Description
Responsible for the delivery of patient-centered, team-based care within the scope of a family practice physician (work can include, but does not require providing pediatric and prenatal care) or internal medicine physician. Collaborates with Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LVNs, Social Workers, Case Managers and Medical Assistants to provide physical and psychosocial assessments, diagnosis and management of chronic and acute health and illness needs. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the continuity of healthcare services and health education regardless of the presence or absence of disease. Utilizes standardized procedures and consults the Chief Medical Officer for cases outside of scope of practice.
Requirements
Education:
Doctorate in Medicine
License:
Licensed MD/DO in the State of California.
Board Certified Family Practice Physician.
DEA certified.
Experience:
2-4 years of experience providing direct patient care. preferably in an outpatient or community based setting
Training:
Completion of an accredited residency program in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to interface effectively with staff, volunteers, and other physicians/providers.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentials at St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers.
Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish without an interpreter, preferred.
Salary range if providing 40 hours per week patient care: $224,800.00 - $282,557.00
Salary range if providing 32 hours per week of patient care: $179,840.00 - $226,045.00
