About the Job:
Mortar Group, a New York based residential real estate development firm is seeking a driven, service-oriented, and experienced professional for a Real Estate Associate position. This role will be involved in day-to-day management of Mortar owned and operated properties and assistance in the construction of new developments.
Job Responsibilities:
Construction Management Duties -
- Responsible for management and coordination of punchlist for condominium developments, including closing checklists, buyer walk through's and punchlist for new residents.
- Quality assurance through building prep for subcontractors, trade walks, checklists, and punchlist.
- Assist in coordination with contractors, legal and marketing teams for unit sales, turnover, and model apartment installations.
Property Management Duties -
- Assist property manager in daily operations for company portfolio
- Manage site inspections, general upkeep, repair coordination, tenant communication, and leasing
- Assist in property improvements, coordinating with contractors
- Using property management software to manage daily operations and rental payments
- Preparing and filing documents as needed
- Ensuring properties comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Assist in processing, paying invoices, and data entry from vendors and service providers
- Help prepare and distribute all memos, notices, and other correspondence in regards to building changes, updates, or property information
- Help maintain the building and tenant files and documents to ensure accurate records are kept
- Assist in the inspections of buildings to help manage appropriate property maintenance and address all maintenance and building issues or emergencies
- Conduct building site visits, and weekly or monthly site inspections
Marketing Duties -
- Assist in ongoing marketing campaigns, and creation + tracking of new programs
- Coordination and reporting to Principal
- Assist in Social Media coordination and scheduling, including development and creation of written and video content
- Assist in management of company website
- Assist in screening and sourcing new multi-family acquisitions
Qualifications
Experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and techniques
- Proficiency in property + construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Appfolio, and Microsoft Suite)
- Strong understanding of finance/real estate finance concepts
- Experience with project scheduling and coordination with excellent organizational and time management skills-
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ideal candidate will have previous 2 - 5 years experience in Real Estate
- References from relevant previous employers will be required
