Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely and accurate accounting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of accounting principles, and experience with bookkeeping software. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in our accounting department, providing essential support to our financial operations.
Duties:
- Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts.
- Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and vendor accounts.
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
- Prepare and process journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices and making timely payments.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and standards.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, to maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Collaborate with other accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost savings and process improvements.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and governmental accounting regulations.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping software, including Sage.
- Experience with double entry bookkeeping and journal entries.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proven experience as a clerk or bookkeeper.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear and concise financial reports.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.45 - $23.43 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
