As Assistant Center Director at FELS, you will:
- Maintain oversight of the administration of all center operations and provide oversight when needed.
- Monitor safe supervision and child/staff ratios to ensure compliance with DHS & FELS.
- Ensure that DHS, Keystone Stars, and NAEYC standards are upheld regularly.
- Supervise classroom staff (e.g. conduct classroom observations, assist with conducting performance reviews, staff meetings) and other staff assigned.
- Assist the Center Director with disciplining staff in accordance with organization personnel practices procedures.
- Oversee health and safety issues at the center and follow through on the quarterly health and safety checklist.
- Responsible for daily staff scheduling (e.g. substitutes, lesson planning, time-off requests).
- Assist in classrooms as needed providing substitute coverage.
What We are Looking For:
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
- Education must include 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
- Two (2) years related program and center management experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age (where required).
- Experience with financial management skills.
- Non-profit sector experience preferred.
