Wage dependent on experience: starting at $55,000.
Our Mechanical Designer/Draftsman will be required to perform these functions:
- Create detailed mechanical drawings, technical documentation, bills of materials, and design specifications based on project requirements and specifications.
- Designs are functional, easily manufactured, and meet customer expectations.
- Designs are completed according to schedule.
- Designs meet Afinitas engineering standards.
- Design analysis, drawings, and bills of material are accurate.
- Use CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to develop 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and systems.
- Perform design calculations and analysis to ensure the integrity and functionality of mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with engineers and other leaders to understand design objectives and constraints.
- Review and revise drawings and designs based on feedback from engineers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to fabrication.
- Evaluate and implement design changes.
Work with manufacturing on build processes and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Drafter/Designer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar), or a 2-year technical degree with additional experience
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design standards.
- Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
- Mechanical power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed
- Strength of materials and structural analysis
- Manufacturing processes and materials
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Takes personal ownership and satisfaction on quality work.
