Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Experience with medical documentation and record keeping
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Proficient in using dental software systems (e.g., Epic)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
