Organization Overview: NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe (CAFe) is a community- based organization in Southern New Mexico committed to building power with and for Southern New Mexicans who have been directly impacted by systems of injustice. The non-partisan 501c3 organization is a part of Faith in Action, the largest faith-based community organization in the country.
Position Overview
This position sits at the pivotal crossroads of helping the federation maximize the scope of multiple organizing campaigns through strategic use of and social media/digital organizing: helping the federation reach a broader scale through strategic social media tactics. This includes creating social media posts, scheduling social media posts, keeping our social media outlets up to date, and brainstorming content in alignment with NM CAFe work, and helping tell the digital story of the organization.
The social media associate will work closely with the Director of Communications and community organizers at NM CAFE to build cohesive social media campaign(s) that fully integrate supporters across a range of online and offline engagement. The ideal candidate is already personally active on social media, and is passionate about things like ladders of engagement and moving people from online to offline participation and organizing with NM CAFE. The Social Media Associate will report to the Director of Communications.
Job Responsibilities
Digital Organizing/Communication Responsibilities
- Design social media graphics and create video clips for social media
- Maintain the organization’s social media handles.
- Develop a digital calendar to plan posts & content.
- Social media outreach, including but not limited to: recommending articles to share that align with our work, FB live or Instagram live (only in certain instances), and drafting copy for social media posts.
- Update and maintain our social media presence including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling and reporting on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter.
- Collaborate and coordinate with staff and Director of Communications on new ideas, directions, and tools for communications.
- Track Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook analytics month to month/week to week to improve our social media efforts. This means tracking social media metrics on a consistent basis.
- Generate opportunities to identify and engage existing and unidentified supporters and drive measurable online actions through alerts, infographics, key messages, etc.
- Monitor and respond to all incoming social media and email communications; coordinate with other staff as needed to respond to incoming inquiries and information needs in a timely and appropriate manner.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be computer literate and have a firm grasp of tools available in the social media space.
- Knowledge of content management and/or social media metrics & engagement.
- Must be bilingual (English & Spanish).

Preferred Skills
- Ability to continually develop skills related to use of rapidly changing technology and communications best practices.
- Some familiarity with 501c3 and 501c4 operations/organizations.
- Experience using social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and Instagram to drive action and conversation; as well as social media management systems (i.e. Tweetdeck, FB Meta Business)
- Experience managing social media accounts
- Experience working in a digital related field

$15/$20 an hour (depending on experience)
