Job Summary:
Greenbriar Nursing Center seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care and Quality Assurance Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wound care, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. As a Wound Care and Quality Assurance Nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound care for residents in our long-term care facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of wounds, including the type, stage, and condition.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform wound care treatments and procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
- Monitor and document the progress of wound healing, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in patient care and safety.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of clinical practices and patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.
- Investigate and address incidents, complaints, and grievances related to patient care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of quality assurance activities and findings.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in quality assurance and long-term care.
- Stay current with advancements in wound care techniques, products, and technologies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care management.
- Provide support and guidance to other nursing staff regarding wound care practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Mississippi.
- Wound Care Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on wound care.
- Experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
