RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Rights, Confidentiality, and Ethics Functions
- Follow BPHC Code of Conduct and Ethics policies on confidentiality, including confidentiality of records, human treatment of individuals, etc.
- Ensure that all staff are trained in and comply with all Rights, Confidentiality, and Ethics policies.
- Demonstrate respect for and awareness of cultural differences.
- Comply fully with all mandatory reporting requirements of DCF 51A regulations, DPPC, and Americans with Disability Acts.
- Compliance with ethical and human treatment of staff and individuals served, as evidenced by assessment during supervision.
- Follows all policies and procedures, as evidenced by assessment during supervision.
Safety Functions
- Serve as a member of the Safety Committee or ensure that the Program Administrative Team function as the Safety Committee.
- Provide direction in all efforts to ensure the safety of the persons served and families, staff, contractors, visitors, and the program site.
- Follow procedures on hand washing, universal precautions, and relevant OSHA regulations.
Safety Competencies
- Review contractors' competencies in safety activities and act as indicated, including training.
- All required safety tasks are completed and reported according to policy.
Documentation and Information Functions
- Data collection/reporting is essential to this role to identify community needs, evaluate efficacy of on-scene services, and inform the use of equitable practices designed to increase access to care for survivors.
- The coordinator may also serve as a resource to assist all BTR staff, families on scene, partner professionals and the community.
- Data collection for the specific use of referrals to Boston Trauma Response or other partner services.
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner according to policies and procedures, including but not limited to eHana materials, data reports, referral documentation, etc.
- Meet regularly with Response Manager to discuss program operations, on-scene response, and administrative functions. In conjunction with Response Manager and Program Director, prioritize activities and ensure that all are completed.
Documentation and information Competencies
- All required reports and data are compiled and submitted by due dates.
Leadership and Relationships Functions
- Provide leadership and direction to contractors consistent with program and agency philosophy and mission in conjunction with and in the absence of the Senior Response Manager.
- Monitor all on-scene services to ensure compliance with regulations and standards established by the Joint Commission and other licensing/funding agencies, including ensuring that all required training and certificates are obtained to operate the program.
- Work with Senior Response Manager on performance improvement activities of the program.
- Maintain strong relationships with local Community Based Organizations and other network community partners; attend meetings as required.
Staff Development Functions
- Provide onboarding, training, supervision, and oversight for new and existing contractors to ensure they understand the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the program and its on-scene operations.
- Work closely with Senior Program Manager of Leadership Development & Protocol Management to ensure leadership development opportunities.
Staff Development Competencies
- Complete CEU training to assure maintenance of licensure (if applicable).
- Complete all required training yearly, including maintenance of required certifications, as assessed through audit of training records.
- All Staff are properly trained by both in person and the online learning management system recertification.
- All performance evaluations are completed as scheduled.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Response Manager and Senior Program Manager.
