This is a versatile role that is meant to support staff who wear many hats to ensure a successful learning environment for all students.
Instructional Support
As the paraprofessionals on site you will collaborate closely with teachers to enhance the learning experience. You may co-teach lessons, providing additional explanations and guidance, or work with small groups of students who require more focused attention. You may also assist with lesson planning, material preparation, and grading, allowing teachers to dedicate more time to individualized instruction and student engagement.
Student Support
You will be required to build strong relationships with students, acting as mentors and role models. You will be required to provide academic and emotional support, helping students develop effective study habits, overcome challenges, and build confidence in their abilities. You will also monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and collaborate with teachers to create personalized learning plans.
Classroom Management
As a paraprofessional you will be required to help the lead teacher maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, by assisting with behavioral management, helping students develop appropriate social skills and conflict resolution strategies and supervise students during class transitions, lunch, or other non-instructional periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Specialized Support
The paraprofessional will be required to have expertise in specific areas, such as special education, English language learning, or technology, in order to provide a tailored support to students with diverse needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can participate fully in all classroom activities. You will also collaborate with other professionals, such as counselors, therapists, and specialists, to create comprehensive support plans for students with complex needs.
Administrative Support
You may be required to assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping, data entry, and communication with parents and guardians and participate in school-wide initiatives, such as after-school programs, tutoring sessions, or parent-teacher conferences, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school community.

Pay: $20.50 - $27.50 per hour
