Job Function:
The Pick/Pack/Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the daily activities of the Pick/Pack/Shipping department on the second shift. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Pick/Pack/Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the daily productivity, quality, inventory management and order management of the department. The Pick/Pack/Shipping Coordinator is also responsible for employee morale, safety, training and for the adherence of company policy and procedure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collects and enters daily productivity, quality information and hours worked for all operators in Picking. Posts information on department activity boards. Conducts monthly one on one meeting with employees to discuss performance. Documents conversations.
- Monitors pickers to ensure assigned work is processed on time and in accordance with deadlines.
- Monitors “Stuck Reports” to ensure orders on report do not exceed 1 day in process.
- Research SKU outages and resolves according to procedure.
- Returns to stock all over picks, cancelled, and previously picked orders within one day of items being identified.
- Ensures department payroll accuracy by reviewing attendance records daily.
- Ensures employees are adhering to company policy and procedures. (I.e. (monitors breaks, lunch, attendance etc.). Takes corrective measures when not being followed.
- Responds to e-mail or phone messages within one day of inquiry.
- Identifies and implements process improvements. Reviewing and implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts and 5S.
- Develops written procedures for new and or existing processes. Ensures operators are trained in procedures.
- Monitors and maintains supply and shipping inventories, communicates with UPS Ground and Express as needed.
- Holds daily start up meeting with department.
- Is responsible for the adherence to safety procedures i.e. (labeling of liquids, lock out procedures, housekeeping inspections)
- Balances headcount in areas of responsibility as not to create “flow” issues on the conveyor. Cross-trains department members on multiple job functions.
- Conducts interviews for open positions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Microsoft suite
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate via e-mail, phone or in person with all levels of management.
- Excellent written and math skills
- Ability to execute responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Holds staff accountable for key initiatives.
Hours: 3:30pm-12am (must be flexible to work overtime as needed)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
