ACES is looking for creative, caring, and motivated Speech-Language Pathologists to join our team. The ACES Speech and Language Services department is seeking to hire a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide short-term or long-term school-based coverage in one of ACES member districts or within ACES schools and programs as needed.
Join a dynamic related services team working with ACES partnering districts. Strong applicants will have experience with low incidence populations (i.e. autism, ID, multiple disability, social/behavioral/emotional challenges, etc.) and/or developing and implementing AAC programming. Applicants should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Primary Performance Responsibilities
- Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders and completing required reports regarding the assessments.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans to address identified speech and language disorders.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Providing direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Maintaining ongoing student performance data to monitor and document student progress.
- Attend PPT meetings.
- Consult with school teams to assist in meeting the needs of specific students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language pathology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of high tech and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices or systems.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
- Ability to administer a variety of diagnostic assessments.
- Knowledge of data collection systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school staff, district representatives, students, and parents.

Qualifications
- MS/MA in Communication Disorders
- Hold a valid CT State Dept. of Education Certification (061)
- Hold a valid CT Department of Public Health License
- ASHA certification
