JOB DESCRIPTION
Synergy Spine and Pain Center is looking for a Registered Nurse who is able to work in an interventional pain management center on a PRN basis (about one day a week from 8:00 am- 4:00 pm). REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Registered Nurse (RN) must hold a current, active, and unrestricted registration RN license in the state of Maryland
- The RN would work under the services of the Synergy Spine and Pain Center, an interventional pain management center on a PRN basis (example: Tuesday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm) - competitive hourly rate is provided for PRN work.
- The RN will check vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, …..), assist with surgical procedures, clean and prepare surgical equipment, direct patient flow and assist with scheduling patients.
- The RN must be familiar and current with infection control procedures policy and regulations.
- The RN must hold a current certification in basic or advanced CPR.
- The RN must have an advanced knowledge of sterile techniques, preferably with an OR in a Hospital or ASC setting.
- The RN must have a superior knowledge of ASC drugs and follow protocols for hand washing, gloving, gowning and microbial safety technique
- Must know and/or be willing to learn about all equipment utilized in the OR prior to the procedure
- The RN maintains, tests, and cares for all operating room equipment and report unusual findings to physician on duty
- The RN will provide care requiring substantial amount of scientific knowledge or technical skill related to direct and indirect patient care services, including observation of signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, or general physical condition and will institute/implement procedures as appropriate in accordance with the standardized procedures.
- The RN monitors vital signs through-out procedures and in the recovery room.
- The RN observes patient for signs of discomfort, dyspnea, paleness, increased pulse, signs of shock.
- The RN records vital signs and other significant findings and reporting them to the responsible physician on duty.
- The RN Provides patient/family education and/or oversight of patient education processes to assure that patients and families have the knowledge and skills they need for continuing care.
- The RN may be called upon to answer simple medical questions and gather medical information (i.e., medical history), if appropriate.
- May also be asked to help with scheduling and other administrative duties (rarely), as necessary.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Interacts professionally with other employees, patients and referring offices.
- Maintains cleanliness and adequate supplies of the procedure room and designated areas.
- Adheres to and follows the centers policies and protocols.
- Other projects and administrative duties as assigned by manager.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
- Must possess outstanding organizational skills.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have own car for transportation.
- Must have working familiarity with standard office equipment.

- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and move in an office for moderate periods of time.
- Must have adequate manual dexterity to operate a computer.
