Tasks
- The Engineer will be responsible for the CAD related design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
- Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts and familiarity with SAP for supply chain management and process flow
- Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work and present material for technical review including but not limited to tolerance loops, drawings, bill of materials, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management, and failure root cause analysis reviews.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain product documentation, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.
- Arrange design reviews, discuss/coordinate/analyze concepts, and cost effectiveness of the Mechanical/Electrical designs.
- Coordinate engineering activities with R&D team and support R&D related manufacturing activities.
- May require some travel (domestic as well as international).
Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, or similar and minimum 5 years engineering experience, including experience with product development of industrial and/or electrical products.
- Background in Low Voltage Switchboards or similar, UL 891, UL 50 and NEC.
- Clear communication, strong collaborative skills across functions and within global teams.
- Experience with design software (Creo Preferred), PLM (Windchill preferred, Magnetic simulation and Thermal Simulation.
