A new Montessori School at an easily accessible prime location in Prosper, TX is looking to hire experienced Lead Montessori teachers. Candidates must be positive, energetic, self driven, flexible, and enthusiastic.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must have a Montessori Teacher Certification (AMS, AMI or MACTE)
- Must have at least 2-3 years full time teaching experience in a Montessori school
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have a warm, supportive, and patient attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Must be kind, thoughtful and creative at guiding children in a self-motivated learning environment and helping stimulate their natural desire to learn
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for preparation of the classroom environment, materials and equipment; ensure that all materials are available. Develop and make materials as needed
- Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a record keeping system to track the child’s progress
- Supervise the classroom assistant, aide, interns, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training to those assisting in the classroom environment
- Promote good relations among staff members
- Facilitate a respectful environment for children by advocating conflict resolution and giving lessons in Grace & Courtesy.
- Ensure respectful and open lines of communication with parents. Educate parents about the Montessori philosophy and be available to parents by responding to them in a timely manner through written communication, conferences, phone calls. and
- Plan and host Parent Educational events
- Assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the outdoor environment
- Assess prospective children when they visit the school
- Attend all faculty meetings, teacher trainings, and scheduled staff events
- Be a community leader
- Adhere to the guidelines and school policies as established in the employee handbook
- Substitute whenever needed
- Prepare progress reports for students and be available for parent teacher conferences
- Assist in maintaining the bulletin board
