Pathways to Housing DC is a non-profit that provides services to persons who are homeless and living with major mental illness. The agency provides individuals with independent housing and the supportive services to maintain that housing. The Office Assistant provides administrative, clerical and reception support for the agency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcomes consumers, guests, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains a safe and clean lobby/office by reviewing and ensuring Lobby Checklist is accurately and thoroughly completed
- Answers and transfers calls
- Receives daily mail and/or faxes and distributes to appropriate departments
- Receives, processes, organizes, and submits medical records requests to requesting agency and/or appropriate personnel
- Assists in the distribution of checks issued to consumers
- Provides reminder communications to consumers/teams informing them of upcoming/cancellation appointments
- Assists in the daily scheduling of consumers for appointments with staff psychiatrists and Unity clinic.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year or more experience as an Office Assistant/Receptionist
- Computer skills, including use of email and office systems.
- Patience, flexibility, creativity, compassion, and sensitivity to persons living with disabilities and other minority populations;
