Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management and coordination. As a Construction Estimator/Project Manager, you will be responsible for estimating, overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of all functional areas of a typical business (accounting, production, information systems, and marketing) operating in today's dynamic environment.
This position is also a sales driven position. You will be required to bring in new customers and maintain their accounts.
*Applicant MUST possess Texas Electrical Journeyman License.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate construction projects from conception to completion
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project success
- Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure adherence to schedule and budget
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality and resolve any issues that may arise
- Implement cost control measures to minimize expenses and maximize profitability
- Utilize construction management software such as Accubid and Bluebeam for accurate estimating and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
- Maintain open and positive communication (both in verbal and written form) with employees, departments, Construction Manager, customers and vendors
- Maintain appropriate staffing level and workload distribution to meet customer and business needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and recommend policy changes as needed
- Present at bi-weekly job-site safety meetings and safety training
- Maintain high quality service delivery in an efficient, productive and profitable manner
- Maintain new and existing construction accounts under the direction of the Construction Department Manager
- Assist the Construction Department Manager with job walks and maintain their own customer base
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator/Project Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials. - Prior experience with electrical estimating is a must.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (experience with Accubid and Bluebeam software is a plus)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
- Applicant must be familiar with a variety of the electrical field's concepts, practices, best practice, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems where applicable.
- Experience and knowledge of electrical applications, permits, electrical maintenance goals, Facility Maintenance Application & PM standards
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
