DOGPOUND is New York's preeminent team-based training facility where clients benefit from working with a variety of the best trainers in the city, country, and beyond. Success on the training floor is supported by our client service, membership, and operations staff who manage all customer scheduling, sales, and service related tasks leaving our training team to focus on delivering best-in-class training experiences.
Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide a high level of personalized attention and exceptional customer service to members and potential members.
- Maintain knowledge of, and participation in, all club services, programs, and products.
- Remain up to date with all technologies used by the company.
- Instruct and demonstrate the proper use of equipment and exercise techniques which may include operating equipment and moving dynamically moving in sessions.
- Reporting client progress, notes, and concerns in a timely manner.
- Act as a positive brand ambassador through social media engagement, specifically with our brand, partners, and teammates.
- Sustain professional conduct including but not limited to arriving punctually, speaking positively, and respecting teammates and customers alike.
- Attend all personal training related and company meetings.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Possess a high school degree or GED.
- Demonstrate experience in 1:1 training.
- Maintain ACE, NASM, ISSA, NSCA, or USAW base certifications.
- Remain CPR/AED certified.
- Maintain working availability (including weekends, early mornings and/or evenings, and holidays).
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects in excess of 50 pounds.
- Possess honesty and personal integrity
- Demonstrate the capacity to share space, equipment, and clients.
- Possess passion, ambition, drive, and knowledge regarding the fitness industry.
- Excel in time management, communication, and follow up skills.
- Be reliable, professional, computer literate, energetic, and friendly.
- Must be able to frequently perform all essential physical aspects of the position which may include standing, sitting, running, walking, jumping, squatting, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching, hearing, and talking.
- Must have a legal right to work in the United States.
Preferred Requirements
- Higher education degree, especially in exercise science, kinesiology, sports performance, or a related field.
- 3+ years customer service experience.
- Demonstrated specializations and certifications beyond a base certification (e.g., boxing, Pilates, kettlebell, Olympic lifting, running, pre/post natal).
- Small group training experience.
- Class and event based instruction experience.
- Heightened emotional intelligence and awareness of clients' physical and mental needs.
- Proficient in computer skills (e.g., Mindbody, Google suite, office software).
Full-time scheduling and availability.
Our club is open from 6 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. All DOGPOUND trainers work consistent weekly schedules and the ideal candidate will be available to work five days in-club including:
- At least one day of weekend availability.
- The remaining days of weekday availability. Possible weekday shifts are 6 to 8 hour and either start or end the day or are split shifts with 4 hours of availability between 6 am and noon and 4 hours of availability from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Full-time compensation and benefits:
