Position Summary:
The incumbent reports to the RAMP Research & Engineering Manager. The incumbent receives direction in the form of broadly defined objectives. Responsibilities include meeting team objectives in safety, sustainability, quality, asset management, cost, and team development. Incumbent is recognized for technical knowledge in engineering and works within the pilot facility structure supporting trial work, capital, and daily operations to the purpose of expanding our innovation capability, while providing flexibility and personal/organizational sensitivity. The incumbent provides work direction to other functional team members, maintenance, technicians, service providers, co-ops, etc.
In this role, you will:
Must be willing and capable of working onsite 5 days a week with no exceptions.
Provide engineering support and technical guidance on resolution of process and equipment problems and any safety improvement initiative.
Initiate, design, develop, and optimize engineering solutions which meet/exceed pilot facility expectations.
Manage assigned engineering projects to deliver on time and within budget (capital and expense projects)
Must be capable of overseeing and managing the installation process of their designs.
Provide guidance and support on process and qualification trials and manage engineering change for trial requests.
Responsible for managing/monitoring RAMP maintenance team members and providing oversight for inspection (PM/PdM) plans.
Responsible for leading Electrical RAMP EHS&S Programs (ESWP, HEC, etc.).
Provide coaching and development to team members.
Utilize lean production management techniques to design and develop improvements to the manufacturing processes.
Communicate project deliverables and expectations effectively to team members
Develop broadening mastery in technical areas important to the organization
Document work to ensure knowledge is preserved and protected
Facilitate work in accordance with K-C’s Ways of Working
Physical mobility requirements include ability to safely climb and descend stairs. Must also be capable of lifting at least 50lbs.

Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's in a related engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Requires a minimum of three years of relevant engineering experience in a variety of staff assignments or pilot/manufacturing facility assignments. Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment is essential.
Requires strong collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate and translate the needs of our customers (Material Scientists, Engineers, Technicians and Operators) to design and apply new system processes.
Experience with manufacturing control systems, such as: Allen Bradley / Siemens PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers); variable speed motor and frequency drives; Motion Control (Servos); HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) software; Rockwell drives; distributed control systems; instrumentation; power distribution; machine safety systems.
Experience with:
PID Loops, reading and using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, blueprints, and drawings
Computer troubleshooting, digital electronics, process controls, process measurement & control, electrical preventive maintenance, motor and motor controls, servo motors and controllers.
Expertise in Electrical Engineering with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in capital or expense projects.
A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
Experience working with external technical service providers.
Specification development, design review, checkout, and start up for projects
Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) systems designs into manufacturing and converting equipment to maintain human safety during operation
Problem identification, problem solving methodology
