About Us: We are a small business with around 10 employees. We specialize in making custom-made furniture covers for outdoor use that are manufactured and shipped out of our warehouse in Carson.
Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated HR & Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring that we are following the HR regulations in California and are responsible for implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with our business strategy, will be required to ensure that all our employees are paid accurately and on time through managing our payroll processes through Paychex. The roll also includes managing the company’s accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for supporting our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR responsibilities, including onboarding / outboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Manage weekly payroll processing using Paychex to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Handle accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment scheduling.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with Paychex.
- Knowledge in database systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and knowledgeable in QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and federal/state regulations
- Ability to develop and implement training programs for employee development
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
