As part of the Small Gas Turbine (SGT) Field Service Team you will have the exciting experience of traveling extensively to customer sites around the North American Region of the United States, with occasional international travel as well! Typically, as the lead mechanical FSR on-site, you will be the hands on, direct customer facing interface between Siemens Energy and our clients. Work is never boring. Your responsibilities will vary from standard service outages through new unit installation and commissioning, site modifications and upgrades, breakdowns and solving unique problems. How You Will Make an Impact
The SGT Mechanical Field Service Representative works with the Gas Turbine Field Service Manager based in Deer Park, Texas responsible for providing service and technical support for the SGT 100-400 product lines. Services will include mechanical disassembly, inspection reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades. Other tasks include:
- Maintain the highest level of a zero-harm culture in part by following and carrying out all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
- Responsible for all facets of the company’s scope of work during equipment installation and/or subsequent service inspections/outages on SGT 100-400 units, with the ability to cross train in other related products.
- Plan / perform and coordinate onsite service and maintenance activities while coordinating with project and engineering teams to ensure customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
- Carry out and supervise mechanical aspects of Gas Turbine Inspection procedures such as visual inspection, borescope Inspection, filter changes, valve servicing including return to service following correct standards and procedures. Maintain an accurate record of activity carried out on site; Produce written reports.
- Travel for extended periods of time, both domestic and international (including travel to developing countries as assigned.) Must carry valid passport, and pass both required background checks and required drug and alcohol testing.
- Able to perform duties on day or night shift under difficult conditions (such as heat, cold, noise, etc.) and be able to travel on short notice, including weekends and holidays.
What You Bring
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with Mechanical or Aeroderivative gas turbine equipment; Those with greater experience may be considered for a higher-level position.
- High School diploma or GED that can be verified is required.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is required.
- Familiarity with strip/rebuild of rotating mechanical equipment, knowledge of associated equipment such as auxiliary air, fuel and oil systems is preferred.
- Experience with endoscopic inspections and techniques, and familiarity with laser alignment a plus.
- Strong time management, leadership and organizational skills to work with a crew of mechanics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to fluently speak, write, and read in English. Ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering review and analysis.
- Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport.
- All candidates must be authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the United States.
