Key Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant coordinates and assists in maintaining the paper flow of clerical functions in the office including: Patient in-take, data entry, maintaining patient records, preparing for meetings, coordinating all telephone calls and maintaining sufficient office supplies.
- Answers incoming calls and forward to appropriate staff. Communicates effectively on the telephone with patients, families, and staff.
- Verify patient information and manage electronic health records
- Preserve the confidential nature of items of which he/she has knowledge. He/she must maintain the files, supplies, and general office condition in an orderly manner.
- Receive professional referrals and ensure timely response and data entry.
- Receive potential patient and family inquiries regarding Hospice services.
- Coordinate and schedule visits.
- Maintain regular communication with all involved in sign-on, consent and admission assessment phases to ensure seamless coordination of information and services.
- Maintain inventory of office supplies.
- Order patient supplies and place DME orders
Qualifications:
- 1+ year Hospice experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and excellent customer service background
- Demonstrated familiarity with policies of the organization and state(s) and federal regulations pertaining to hospice services
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
