Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong background in non-profit accounting and a proactive approach to financial management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to our mission of supporting children and families in need.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit organization.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Lydia Home Association.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to management.
- Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and external stakeholders.
- General Accounting:
- Maintain and oversee the accuracy of financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead and coordinate annual audits and internal reviews.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Grant Management:
- Oversee tracking and reporting of grant expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and prepare grant financial reports.
- Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Lead the development of the annual budget.
- Provide financial forecasting and strategic planning support.
- Advise management on financial implications of business activities.
- Internal Controls:
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Promote professional development opportunities for accounting team members.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
