Are you ready to lead a successful groom salon and Nashville's first Pet Grooming School? In this role you will manage and mentor our professional groom team and impart your grooming skills and professionalism to teach others to become professional pet groomers?
About the position
Do you have a passion for grooming? Do you love sharing what you have learned through your experience with others? Would helping young adults overcoming challenging pasts gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be professional groomers get you excited?
If this describes you, you may be a perfect fit to be the Lead Instructor for the new Crossroads Grooming School.
Job Description
Your experience, patience, and willingness to help others aspiring to become professional pet groomers are essential to your success in this position. Prior teaching experience is not necessary, but you’ll need to maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning by bringing students along on a journey, rather than merely just demonstrating technique and skill. As the Lead Grooming Instructor, you will guide a group of apprentices in their education by providing engaging classroom sessions, along with hands-on grooming activities based on NDGAA standards. This is a new position and your feedback and participation will be essential to building a successful program.
The school operates Monday through Wednesday from 8am to 4:30pm. The Lead Instructor will be expected to work one additional day per week to handle grading assignments and administrative tasks. Daily duties will include delivering coursework using contemporary teaching strategies and practices; administering written and practical skills assessments; recording student attendance; preparing students for their final exam; and performing other duties as assigned.
