The Price Center, a service agency empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in work, living, and social settings, is hiring a Director of Quality Assurance and Program Excellence. We’re looking for candidates with leadership skills who have experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and in quality assurance for this key position on our staff.
The Director will work with our dynamic program team and ensure that all programs operate at the highest level of excellence and are compliant with program audits and assessments. The Price Center is preparing to launch an ambitious period of growth and the Director of Quality Assurance and Program Excellence will be critical in ensuring a successful expansion. We’re seeking candidates who will bring vision, passion, and creativity to the role to drive our programs, training, and quality assurance work. More about the position:
This role is responsible for program excellence, quality, and training, and ensuring that all programs are continuously improving. This leader supports the delivery of high-quality programming by establishing protocols and guidelines; conducting regular program audits and assessments; providing support to program directors to improve program quality; and staying current on best practices and innovations. The Director of Quality Assurance and Program Excellence manages all external program audits to meet licensing requirements. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that all program managers and staff comply with training requirements and have the skills they need to provide excellent programming.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Quality Assurance:
- Developing and tracking agency standards, and reporting on performance to leadership and outside institutions as needed;
- Coordinating and overseeing preparation for all audits including but not limited to: Massachusetts Office of Quality Enhancement (QE) Licensing Review, CARF, DPH, MA Health Reviews and other national accreditation surveys and external insurance inspections. This includes correspondence prior to inspection, submission of applications and any other information requested;
- Assessing service delivery at all day and residential sites including following up on the findings, coordination of regular internal auditing including case record review audits, financial and medication audits;
- Overseeing the investigations and development of corrective action plans in response to regulator and internal deficiencies and complaints;
- Overseeing submission of incidents, restraints and medication occurrences to DDS via HCSIS;
- Overseeing the internal reporting process and follow-up;
Training of Program Staff and Managers:
- Collaborating with HR to oversee compliance for all trainings required for a program position;
- Collaborating with HR and the Program Management Team to provide access for all employees to mandatory trainings, including what is mandatory for New Hire Orientation and what is needed in Relias trainings. These include but is not limited to: Basic Human Rights; HIPAA; Mandated Reporter; Accident and Injury Reporting; Fire Safety; and Site Safety;
- Developing and refining trainings to meet the learning needs of employees;
- Creating a cost-effective and high-quality training delivery program that maximizes internal resources and leverages external expertise;
Management team responsibilities:
- Bringing a vision, creative thinking, and insight to the management team discussion and planning;
- Acting as a thought partner in areas of organizational growth, including grant proposals and hiring;
Program Operations:
- Managing, training, and working closely with the Program Operations Manager;
- Ensuring that all necessary SOPs, Policies and Procedures are effective and that all teams are fully trained and operating within these guidelines;
- Maintaining the policy and procedure manuals in accordance with funder and regulatory requirements and regularly update to include best practices and operational changes;
- Ensuring that program activities comply with the quality requirements of all contracts, accreditation standards, licensing requirements, regulations, and The Price Center’s policies and procedures;
What we’re looking for in you:
- You have at least five years of work experience, including a background working with persons with intellectual disabilities and at least one year of experience in quality assurance;
- You have professional experience in a leadership role, ideally including experience managing staff and running a program area;
- You have knowledge of DDS regulations and IDD program operations and are capable of building a relationship with contacts at relevant agencies;
- You are a strong project manager, with solid organizational and creative, and problem-solving skills. You are capable with data, systems, and tracking;
- You are able to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization and to participate as an effective management team member;
- You have effective oral and written communication and relationship-building skills;
- You are excited to work at a growing and dynamic agency;
- You have experience with and a commitment to working with people from a variety of backgrounds, including different racial, ethnic, religious, cultural backgrounds, as well the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and more.
- You are comfortable with technology and can get up to speed on a new program or database relatively quickly;
- You have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a willingness to use personal or agency vehicle for work-related travel;
- You are fluent in English, with additional language skills preferred (but not required).
Details: This is a full-time position based in our Newton, MA location. You will report to our Vice President of Programs and work closely with our program managers and management team.
