SUMMARY
The Tool and Maintenance Technician is responsible for directing and participating in all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment, tools, fixtures and process infrastructure in the Machining and Paint departments. The Tool and Maintenance Technician is also responsible for development, setup and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and consumables in the department through coordination with internal resources and external suppliers. This position will support and work with manufacturing team to ensure attainment and continual improvement of company metrics in safety, quality, delivery, costs, and productivity/efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform and keep records of routine maintenance and repairs on department equipment, tools, and fixtures to optimize functionality and minimize downtime.

Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for equipment, tools, and fixtures to ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.

Develop, set up, and maintain tooling and fixtures for production processes.

Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables and tools necessary manufacturing operations, equipment repair, and equipment maintenance.

Troubleshoot equipment, tooling and fixture issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tooling setup, operation, and equipment maintenance.

Train and mentor department team on equipment, tool and fixture setup, maintenance, and repair.

Coordinate with outside service providers on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting and department tools, fixtures, and consumables.

Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement/quality initiatives.

Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
-
High school degree or equivalent required. 2-year technical degree preferred.
-
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skill in selecting, procuring, and organizing cutting tools, holders, and fixtures to support production needs.

Proficiency in mechanical and electrical maintenance of CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment.

Ability to interpret technical documentation, including equipment manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and GD&T
-
Knowledge of preventative maintenance and lean manufacturing principles.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

Proven service oriented, team player who takes initiative to get the right things done.

Previous experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role is a plus.

Experience with powder coat systems and Haas, Fadal, and Makino machines is a plus.

Ability to safely use and lift items weighing fifty (50) pounds.
