Business Development Manager
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the day to day management of key regional contracts. Responsible for directing the operations of the region to provide quality services to the client by developing and implementing effective operational plans to meet the needs of the client as well as achieving the business-related objectives of the company, in accordance with GSH policies and procedures. The Business Development Manager leads the region with business management, sales development, including pricing, lead generation and contract mobilization. The role will report directly to the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties
- Enhance current business operations management with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Ensure all sites operate within budget requirements and work closely with Director of Operations to measure, report and analyze financial performance of the portfolio.
- Create annual income statement budgets and ensure conformity with expectations.
- Lead new sales opportunities to include pricing, technical bid writing and oversight to ensure GSH are leading by industry standards.
- Meet and develop relationships with clients to extend and expand contracts.
- Maintains and promotes customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Oversee and direct the mobilization of new business and ensure compliance with GSH ISO policies, procedures, programs and contractual agreements.
- Create, distribute and maintain all necessary reports and documentation concerning the regional activities.
- Ensure existing accounts adhere to GSH policies, procedures, programs and contractual agreements.
- Negotiate union contracts.
- Review legal contracts to ensure GSH best interests are maintained.
- Develop and/coaches the management team within the region to ensure their highest potential is reached.
- Lead human capital management for Texas region, working closely with HR management team.
- Ensure a “safety first” work environment and culture.
- Manages with support from H&S manager the performance of H&S trainings for the Texas region.
- Attend industry events to promote GSH image and brand.
- Create and implement new or modified operational programs to improve the overall quality and service provided to our clients/customers.
- Manage staff performance and coach/discipline as necessary, especially when initiatives are off-track, over-budget and/or behind-schedule, including holding individuals accountable, correcting performance, while fostering influential interpersonal relationships.
- Provide cross-functional collaboration to define complex issues, facilitate ideas, influence thinking, and build consensus around decisions.
- Oversee project management, organizational, and time management skills of all staff, to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements;
Education/Training:
Required:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of ten (10+) years management experience.
- Minimum of prior five (5) years managing at least $20m of annual revenue.
- Must have understanding of P&L statements.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and preference for OSHA 30 certification.
Other Requirements:
Required:
- Proficient in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel and other assorted business software.
- Must have prior union negotiation experience with IUOE and service trades.
- Must have working knowledge of industry leading CMMS programs.
- Must be able to develop and deliver presentations to senior executives, clients and large groups with strong oral and written presentation.
- Able to travel for business as needed (approximately 15-20%).
