ASSISTANT SWIM COACH
Reports to: Youth and Family Program Manager
Nestled next to the protected open space of the Arastradero Preserve, Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club (PAHGCC) offers incomparable Bay Area vistas. Our welcoming and distinctive private club provides challenging golf, year-round recreation, artistic culinary and social activities for Members, their families, and guests. Built in 1958, PAHGCC was developed with a vision to be the family club, inclusive of women and children and has been a leading example of family membership ever since. The Club recommitted to its family values and dedication to youth in 2012 with a 30,000sq foot expansion of its Family Fitness Center. The golf course also underwent an ambitious renovation of all 18 holes in 2020, that is now the premier championship course on the peninsula. Here at Palo Alto Hills we blend the outdoors, family, and exceptional golf in one of the most idyllic locations in the Bay Area.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 Additional $10/swim lesson taught.
- Meals are provided 6 days per week.
- Ongoing job training provided.
- Our premier championship golf course is open for staff to enjoy on select Mondays.
- This is an hourly non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime.
- Time and Half Pay on Holidays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in coaching practices for the Swim Team, including, but not limited to, younger (10 & Under) and older (11 & over) age groups. This includes on deck coaching of organized swim practices, tracking swimmers’ progress, and time trials.
- Developing and monitoring Learn-to-Swim Lessons (ages 5 & Under).
- Administrative duties and attendance for Swim Meets, including registering swimmers in the Team Manager/SwimTopia platforms, developing the meet entries, and encouraging swimmers at the meet.
- Opportunities to run additional Swim Clinics and Private Lessons for all ages.
- Because of the fluctuating demands of the club’s operations, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions. It may be necessary to work in other areas of the Club and help others when the occasion arises. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or directed. This position, as well as all other positions, at Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club (PAHGCC) are required to adhere and uphold to all PAHGCC service standards and club wide policies.
