Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee our 60 Bed Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration, long-term care, and post-acute care.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Nursing Staff: Overseeing the nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating their performance to ensure competent and compassionate care.
- Compliance with Regulations: Ensuring the facility meets all state and federal healthcare regulations, including documentation and reporting requirements.
- Patient Care Management: Overseeing patient care plans, ensuring they are followed, and adjusting them as necessary based on patient needs and changes in their condition.
- Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs to monitor and improve the quality of care provided to residents.
- Budget Management: Managing the nursing department’s budget, including staffing costs, equipment, and supplies, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Policy Development: Developing, updating, and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Working closely with other departments such as medical, dietary, and administrative teams to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Resident and Family Communication: Acting as a liaison between residents, their families, and the healthcare team, addressing concerns, and providing information and support.
- Emergency Preparedness: Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans to ensure resident safety during emergencies or disasters.
- Professional Development: Promoting ongoing education and professional development opportunities for nursing staff to keep them updated on best practices and new healthcare trends.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of Skilled Nursing care, and nursing administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
