Description:
The Senior Crew Leader combines hands-on field leadership with project management oversight, ensuring the successful execution of ecological restoration projects. This role oversees daily field operations, manages team activities, and maintains high safety standards. Additionally, the Senior Crew Leader collaborates closely with the Contracting Manager and the Sales Manager to align project goals, manage resources, and ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget. As a Senior Crew Leader, you will initially be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operations of a crew, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to our high standards. This role is pivotal in our company's growth strategy, as you will receive hands-on training and mentorship to develop your leadership and management skills.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead day-to-day operations of the Implementation Team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Contracting Manager to implement project plans, including task delegation, equipment scheduling, and material procurement.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety procedures.
- Manage team performance, including training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, ensuring project expectations are met.
- Document daily activities, including material usage, equipment maintenance, and project progress.
Project Management Integration:
- Collaborate with Contracting Manager on project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Implement project requirements and manage scope changes effectively.
- Assist in preparing project estimates and managing project finances within established budgets.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications, including reporting and documentation requirements.
- Monitor project performance metrics and provide regular updates to the Contracting Manager.
- Attending regular contracting department meetings, engaging, and sharing feedback with the team.
Periodic Responsibilities:
- Participate in site inspections and client meetings as needed.
- Support marketing and networking efforts.
- Provide technical input and support to enhance project efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental sciences, or related field preferred, with demonstrated field experience in ecological restoration.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and safety.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining ecological restoration equipment and tools.
- Valid driver's license / Valid DOT med card & Class C Non-CDL License
- Valid Pesticide Applicator License
- S130/190 Basic Wildland Firefighter Training Certification
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Expected Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with ecological restoration work.
- Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
- Adherence to safety protocols and handling of hazardous materials as required.
