Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Benefits Manager located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. The Benefits Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of employee benefits programs, including benefits administration, benefits management, U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), COBRA, and international benefits programs. The Benefits Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Benefits Administration and Benefits Management skills
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and COBRA compliance
- Analytical skills for data analysis and decision-making related to benefits program design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in benefits management or a related field
- Experience with benefits software and other systems is a plus
- Previous supervisory experience is required. You will have direct reports.
- Professional certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is desirable but not required
Other Information
- An ideal candidate should be able to be in the office 5 days a week, however, there is also some flexibility to work from home on certain occasions.
- This position also handles a number of accounting functions, like the reconciliation of invoices against payroll (for example). Strong Excel skills are necessary.
- Previous experience with Workday, including open enrollment configuration, running benefits reports and managing leave of absences is a bonus.
