Job Description:
As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in our organization, ensuring smooth operations and driving strategic growth. You will work closely with our founder/visionary to align and achieve our school's mission and goals. This role requires a highly independent leader who can manage daily operations, inspire staff, and uphold our core values.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Hiring, Firing: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and termination processes to ensure the school employs qualified and competent staff.
Training: Develop and implement training programs for new and current employees, including Customer Service Representatives, Driving Instructors, Driving Escorts, and Office Administrators, to ensure high standards of performance and service.
Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth, including partnerships, new service offerings, and market expansion to increase the school's market presence and revenue.
Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts that arise in day-to-day operations to ensure a harmonious and productive work environment.
Instructor and Staff Management: Handle driving instructor call-outs, time-off requests, and issues among driving instructors, students, and office staff.
Maintenance and Safety: Ensure all issues related to vehicle maintenance, car cleaning, and safety are promptly addressed and resolved, maintaining high standards for the school's fleet and overall operational safety.
Compliance: Ensure the school remains compliant with DMV regulations, maintaining a legal operational environment.
Risk Management: Manage risks and oversee field safety for students driving with instructors.
Operational Strategies: Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline processes, optimize resource utilization, and enhance efficiency across all departments.
Project Management: Manage upper-level projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the school's strategic objectives.
EOS Implementation: Implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) within the organization and work closely with the founder/visionary to align and achieve the school's strategic vision and goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Manager, Director, or in a similar leadership role.
Extensive experience in operations management, preferably in the education or service industry.
Experience with recruitment, training, and staff management.
Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in strategic planning and business development.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) or similar business frameworks is a plus.
Proficient in using business software and technology for operational efficiency.
Knowledge:
Understanding of DMV regulations and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of risk management and safety procedures, especially in a driving school context.
