Telecommunications Outside Plant Construction Supervisor

Description
Supervise, plan, and organize aerial construction efforts being completed by Micrologic in-house construction teams and Third-Party contract labor for new construction, make ready, maintenance, rebuild projects & storm restoration. Responsible for all fiber network construction productivity, safety and quality of work performed within the aerial construction department. Responsible and/or supports the hiring, training, development, production, and performance management of Micrologic aerial construction teams and third-party contract labor.
Job Requirements
1. Monitor In-house construction teams and contractor performance and ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements.
2. This job has a 97% travel requirement and requires a Class A CDL. Travel is considered local daily travel to different construction/repair sites. Candidates must be able to work remotely from the field.
3. Ensure constant compliance with OSHA safety standards.
4. Troubleshoot systems as necessary to define root cause and break-fix alternatives.
5. Perform site inspections for quality control of In-house construction teams and contract labor.
6. Monitor daily production and submit/review daily production reports.
7. Reconcile submitted invoices to work completed in the field.
8. Coordinate permitting and make-ready process is followed and in place before construction work.
9. Communicate with Manager or designated delegate to provide updates about construction progress.
10. Review and process damage claims, communicate/update appropriate parties when required.
11. Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
12. Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
13. Know, understand, and follow company policies.
14. Perform other duties as requested by manager.

10. Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts
11. Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as gaffs, safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
12. Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
13. Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 32 ft. high and 90 pounds)
14. Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as needed
15. Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
16. Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
17. Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position (e.g. signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.)
18. Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs)
19. Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time
20. Ability to work with small components and wires to make connections
21. Ability to use handheld communication devices and applications
22. Ability to dig in all types of soil
23. Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, knowledge of CDL requirements
24. Ability to operate machinery used for underground/overhead cable installation
25. Ability to read general to complex system layouts from blueprints
26. Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
27. Knowledge of National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code and OSHA
28. Knowledge of FTTH construction and Architecture
