LOCATION: Bracher Children's Center
SALARY: $22.74 - $29.03 Per Hour
HOURS:
- Full-time; 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year,
- Schedule to be determined based on the needs of the program
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit with twelve (12) or more ECE units approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Experience working with preschool and school age children in an organized setting is preferred.
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of a permit teacher/site supervisor, provide instruction to individuals, small groups, or large groups of Child Development students, monitor and report student progress in a classroom or other learning environment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Be able to organize groups and lead learning activities for students.
- Monitor and report behavior of students according to approved procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior.
- Prepare and implement weekly lesson plans.
- Attend meetings and in-service trainings related to child growth and development.
- Prepare materials for classroom use, such as cutting paper and preparing bulletin boards, charts, and other visual aids.
- Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures; assist students in emergency and fire drill procedures; maintain classroom and related facilities in an attractive, safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Assist students by providing proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
