The Head teacher is responsible for providing leadership to the Seminole Tribe of Florida Preschool in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum, assessing children’s performance, documenting children’s progress, effectively communicating with parents, and supervising staff.
Associate’s Degree with course emphasis in Child Development, Early Childhood Education field is required. Forty Five (45) hours of training/certification in Early Education is required. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education or Special Education is preferred or have specialized coursework of professional development training in programs curriculum is preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with preschool age children is required. Must have completed Red Cross First Aid Training and have a current CPR Certification. Must use discretion and maintain confidentiality in all matters (personal and professional information) when dealing with all situations involving children, families, staff or other community members. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages.
