In this job you'll be going into homes to pick-up furniture like couches, appliances, and patio furniture, then bringing the items back to the ReStore for resale one day per week. The other days you will help out in the store and outdoor warehouse by pricing items, helping customers and various other tasks.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is for a ReStore Warehouse Associate that will be working in our store front, outdoor warehouse, and on our truck assisting with pickups. They will be able to meet the demands of receiving donations, unloading trucks, assisting with customers with their purchases, and accurately and efficiently handling customer transactions.
- 35 - 40 hours per week
- Indoor/Outdoor during all weather conditions.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift larger items (like refrigerators and furniture)
- Must be available Saturdays.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Perform residential and corporate donation pickups as instructed.
- Operate P.O.S. system.
- Handle merchandise without causing damage to donated materials or donor property.
- Operate equipment safely and in compliance with HFHJCI safety procedures.
- Process inventory: label/price, sort, stock.
- Organize the inventory to continually improve efficiency.
- Control the movement, repair, pricing, and recycling of donated merchandise.
- Ensure volunteers are engaged and feel positive about their ReStore volunteer experience.
- Record and maintain donation receipts and sold tickets and turn in paperwork daily.
- Assist in loading customer purchases.
- Represent HFHJCI by interfacing successfully with people in a polite and courteous manner.
- Other tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team and/or independently
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
- This individual must be detail-oriented and able to take direction.
- Knowledgeable of warehouse and building supplies.
- Demonstrates creative problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Must demonstrate safety awareness in vehicles and use of equipment.
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and the public.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have Valid driver license.
- Forklift Certification (preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to do heavy lifting up to 75 pounds and team lift larger items like refrigerators and furniture.
- Ability to sit, walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs and lift frequently.
MISC:
- Must be able to work Tuesday - Saturdays.
- Must be professional in appearance and a good ambassador of the Habitat brand.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
- Must pass a drug screening.
