ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
The Quality Engineer Supervisor manages the overall quality system and its resources to meet or exceed customer and internal goals. Customer focused production environment, with highly diverse, and often, highly operator dependent value streams. This role will have the responsibility to understand, execute, edit if necessary and validate compliance to quality standards as defined by the ISO/ATF and other Technicians and Inspectors through quality defect detection, prevention and continuous improvement is critical to success. This position will actively lead and participate in various manufacturing initiatives including continuous improvement projects (e.g. Kaizen), Corrective Action/8D responses, APQP new product launch, PPAP submissions, customer visits, supplier management activities (including visits), training of skilled personnel, and data analysis to improve quality functions.
- Drives Root Cause, 8D, Problem Solving efforts.
- Through collaboration, identifies and implements Corrective Actions and Error Proofing strategies.
- Conducts internal audits for compliance with quality systems.
- Facilitates education and training of employees in quality systems and procedures.
- Leads continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for customer communication in quality conformance issues.
- Leads supplier quality initiatives, driving improvements in reliability and quality performance of supply chain.
- Performs verifications and adjustments to APQP/PPAP documentation and practices (e.g., DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instruction, etc.) related to new product launches.
- Problem resolution and improvement processes with external suppliers using Kaizen activities, 8D, and other corrective actions methods.
- While the home facility will be in Denton, the candidate must be able to travel (10%-20% travel) to supplier facilities or other NIC sites as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt highly desired, but not required.
- This position requires a successful track record in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment as well as team leadership experience.
- Strong background with all quality tools (MSA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, SRR readiness, DOE and FMEA) desired.
- CAD/SolidWorks experience is not required but would be a great addition.
- Experienced in GD&T.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 systems, including auditing experience.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks; completes assignments within expected time frames.
- Ability to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal management with a high level of effectiveness.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
