Inventory Specialist
Job Overview:
Uncommon James is seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist to play a critical role in managing and optimizing our inventory. This position involves overseeing specific product categories, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, and efficiently handling inventory operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, proven experience in inventory management, and the ability to navigate and utilize WMS systems effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management and Oversight:

Diligently monitor and manage inventory levels for specific product categories, ensuring optimum stock availability.

Conduct thorough and regular inventory counts; meticulously reconcile any discrepancies to guarantee accuracy and reliability of inventory records.

Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices to maintain efficient inventory health and minimize stock variances.
Data Analysis and Reporting:

Expertly utilize WMS to compile, analyze, and present detailed reports on inventory status, including inventory levels, aging stock, stock movement trends, and other critical metrics.

Continuously review and adjust inventory parameters within the WMS, such as SKU-specific weights, storage locations, and safety stock levels.
WMS System Operations:

Conduct day-to-day operations within the WMS, effectively managing product information updates, tracking inventory movements, and making necessary stock level adjustments.

Optimize the use of License Plate Numbers (LPNs) Lot Codes and other WMS functionalities to enhance inventory tracking efficiency and accuracy.
Collaboration and Coordination:

Collaborate closely with the Inventory Manager and cross-functional teams to develop, refine, and implement strategic inventory management processes and initiatives.

Actively contribute to the planning and execution of promotional events and sales, ensuring strategic inventory allocation and availability to meet customer demand.

Play a key role in training and mentoring Inventory Associates, elevating their proficiency in using WMS tools and understanding best practices in inventory management.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.

Proficiency in using a WMS system.
